Jeepneys - Philippines Travel Buses

The moment you step out of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport grounds, you will most likely see a bunch of colourfully decorated transportation units with people stacked like a can of sardines inside while some hang tightly at the back part. Do not be surprised and do not fear for the lives of the people hanging at the back – it is normal. Those are the famous jeepneys of the Philippines. Unlike cabs and buses, you will find jeepneys anywhere you go in the country – in the busy cities, small quiet towns, and in the far-away provinces. These public transportation units can basically take you anywhere at a very cheap price, starting at Php 7.50 or $0.17!

Philippines Travel - Fly to Manila

If you are coming into the Philippines from a different country, a number of airlines are already operating flights into and out of Manila via the NAIA Terminal 1. Such airlines include KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, and much more. Round-trip flights going to Manila will usually cost around $1500, but may even be less if you book your flight earlier or if you happen to catch a promo. The Philippines’ very own Philippine Airlines also operates international flights from various countries to Manila. It might cost a bit less as compared to the other airlines, but they still offer exceptional services to their clients and can still compete with other international airlines. Read more about flying to the Philippines.

Flying into Manila International airport known as NAIA Terminal 1 can be confusing for the first time traveler to the Philippines. If you are switching to another airline for a domestic flight you will have to travel to the other airport terminals by one of the variety of taxi services available. I would recommend taking a metered yellow taxi and you should be taken care of just fine to to transfer to terminal 3 if you are flying on Ceub Pacific for another local domestic flight to go and enjoy another part of the philippines in the Visayas or Mindanao.
